Central Coast Energy Services, first known as The Energy Conservation Program, was established in 1977 to provide weatherization services to low income households. Advancements in Building Science technology and diagnostics are constantly adapted to better suit the needs of each individual households served.
The mission of Central Coast Energy Services, Inc. is to improve household safety, health, and economic security within communities in California. We foster community health and well-being by providing energy conservation, consumer education & advocacy, home improvement, utility assistance, job training, and other services to people in need. We promote an environment of safety, hard work, teamwork, and high quality services.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program was established in 1981 by the Federal Government to replace the Low Income Energy Assistance Program present at the time. The modification from LIEAP to LIHEAP allowed the easing of some program restrictions that prevented individuals from qualifying simply because their medical needs were not covered.
